Our Mission Statement
The mission of Temple Beth Am is to provide worship, educational, social, lifecycle and charitable services in accordance with the faith and traditions of Reform Judaism. Temple Beth Am is to be a spiritual home for all to participate in a Jewish community – a community to learn Torah, to worship God, and to improve the world. As a bridge between our membership, our community and the State of Israel, Temple Beth Am embraces our heritage and ensures continuity by providing Jewish education for its adults as well as its children, including not only the Torah itself, but also the Jewish traditions, ethics, law, and history that underlie our Reform perspective and liberal orientation to Judaism. We achieve this by being a: Bet Midrash – A House of Study Providing innovative, Jewish educational and cultural activities for members of all ages and backgrounds. Bet T'fillah – A House of Prayer Establishing a welcoming and inclusive, egalitarian prayer community; Promoting personal spiritual growth, guided by Jewish values. Bet Knesset – A House of Gathering (Assembly) Developing a strong and vital Jewish community through: A Caring Community to support each other in joy and need; Outreach to welcome congregants of all ages, backgrounds, and family configurations; Social Action dedicated to tikkun olam, doing good deeds for the world.
