The Confirmation Academy is directed and taught by Rabbi Steven Mills with the assistance of Jackie Burge.
Class Sessions (Tuesday evenings, once-a-month)
Text based discussion sessions on current issues and relevant world events. We will meet over dinner.

- Jewish Identity/American Jewish History
- Comparative Judaism/Religion
- Contemporary Issues from a Jewish Perspective
Social Action Projects
Decide as a group concerning two social action projects we would like to support and work on together over the course of the year. As a group we will research the projects and determine how our efforts will be most beneficial to the charitable organizations.
Class Trips (single day trips)
The class will go as a group to the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia. Two Confirmation Academy Credits.
Advocacy Trip to Washington, D.C.—there will be an opportunity this year to attend an advocacy trip to our nation’s Capital from January 23-26 through the Religious of Center of Reform Judaism’s L’taken Seminar.
Local and Regional Youth Group Participation
Certain number of Temple Beth Am youth group events will be designated for Confirmation Academy credit and all NFTY GER events
Additional Special programs:
- Being part of the steering committee for J-serve
- Sunday morning with J-Teen, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
- Attendance at Jewish Cultural Events
- Independent Study
